Trucks on the Bluff

TRUCKS over 9 tons may not use Bluff Rd or other residential roads on the Bluff. Please report transgressions to the Metro Police or the CPF. Record the registration number and date/time, and, if possible, take photographs with easily identifiable landmarks in the background.

New Traffic Fines

Be prepared for the new nation-wide traffic fines system. It apparently has been delayed, but readers should be aware of the fines that will be imposed - click here. Note that this has not been confirmed and fines as well as violation definitions may change before the system becomes operational. Note also that this document may contain errors and should be considered a guide only.

Edwin Swales VC Drive

The CPF recently received complaints of (1) car dealers in Edwin Swales VC Drive parking their cars on the sidewalk leaving no space for pedestrians, and (2) loading of cars onto trucks on the sidewalk resulting in damage to the sidewalks and to light-poles.

These matters were reported to the Metro Police who have been attending to the issues. Supt Verwey reports that 17 prosecutions have already been issued and that enforcement will continue.
