Neighbourhood Watch

Dunville Road Neighbourhood Watch

The Dunville Road Neighbourhood Watch (DRNW) is currently the only neighbourhood watch on the Bluff. It was founded in 2002 and has been very instrumental in keeping crime down to reasonable levels in the area around Dunville Road.

The DRNW works closely with the SAPS in Sector 2 of the Bluff Sector Policing.

See this newspaper article about the DRNW.

Meetings are held at the corner of Bluff and Top Rds and are combined with the Sector 2 meeting. Watch this space for details of the next meeting. We urge all members and interested residents to attend. For more information, contact Koos Swanepoel at 031-467-2576.

Currently more information can be found at the DRNW web-site, but this is being moved to its new location right here.

The Community Needs YOU!

Joining and/or supporting your local CPF, sector group, neighbourhood or street watch, means that you have made a positive commitment to act against crime in your community.

What is expected of you?

  • Be alert and respond to what is going on in your neighbourhood.
  • Ensure that your home, especially your sleeping area, is properly secured.
  • Do regular cut-backs of overgrowth in your garden.
  • Support vulnerable people such as the elderly in your street, and help them to avoid becoming victims.
  • Mark your property.
  • Reduce crime by becoming visibly active.
  • Act as extra eyes and ears.
  • Where possible do not leave your vehicle in the street.
  • Report suspicious vehicles.
